Exploreum Science Squad
The Gulf Coast Exploreum’s Science Squad is an energetic team of science educators who can’t wait to bring exciting, hands-on, curriculum-based demonstrations to school assemblies and individual classrooms! This talented team of science techs will educate and entertain your students, grades K-8.
Assembly Demonstration
The Exploreum is excited to announce its first ever outreach show: SCIENCE ROCKS! is a Rock N' Roll concert dedicated to the science of LIGHT and SOUND. Kindergarten through 8th grade students will be entertained and engaged as they learn how science and technology combine to create a rock concert. Audience members will become the rock band, the lighting technicians, and the stars of this 50 minute presentation.

The Exploreum’s Science Squad can deliver this musical science show to your school beginning January 2011. The cost is $900 for the 50minute presentation and up to 300 students. The Science Squad will currently travel within a 1 hour radius of the Gulf Coast Exploreum at a mileage charge of 50 cents per mile. Please make your reservation 30 days in advance. A 50% deposit will be required at the time of booking.
Classroom Lessons
The Science Squad has teamed up with BASF, the Chemical Company, to bring area classrooms the international, award-winning chemistry program, Kids Lab. This program is designed to provide a fun, hands-on learning environment for children, teachers and caregivers. All participants experience chemistry through safe and engaging chemical experiments, coupled with interactive Q&A and demonstrations. They learn how chemistry is all around us and how BASF creates chemistry.

The Exploreum’s Science Squad can deliver this classroom lab beginning January 2011. The cost is $150 for the first 50minute presentation and $125 for each additional classroom. Each lesson can hold up to 30 students. The Science Squad will currently travel within a 1 hour radius of the Gulf Coast Exploreum at a mileage charge of 50 cents per mile. Please make your reservation 30 days in advance. A 50% deposit will be required at the time of booking.
Fairs & Festivals
The Science Squad can enrich any school festival with slimy, slippery, and surprising educational demonstrations! These activities are designed to educate and entertain learners of all ages. Demonstrations include:
Slime Time
Students and visitors explore chemistry and create a slimy polymer that they can take home. This activity is great for visitors of all ages.
Science with a Bang
Heat up your event with the science of combustion! Hold fire in your hand, understand the elements of combustion, and explore how to fuel your fire for science.
Robot Soccer
Bring real robots to your event and play robot soccer! Learn about rapid prototyping and engineering design using the Exploreum’s robotic kits.

The Science Squad will currently travel within a 1 hour radius of the Gulf Coast Exploreum at a mileage charge of 50 cents per mile. Please make your reservation 30 days in advance.
